 PROJECT 1 Survival Skills 

(In- House Project)

SAFETY FIRST- Paving a path for the enlightened youth

D.A.V. Public School, Sector 49, Faridabad organized ISA In house Project 'Survival Skills ' under the aegis of the British Council in the school premises. The project aimed at acquainting scholars with some techniques that can be used to sustain life in any life-threatening situation. The Students of Class IX and X participated in this Project. They were apprised of some Dos and Don’ts.

Day 1(Mock Drill) : 

The subject expert Dr. M.P. Singh (Chief Warden, Civil Defence, and Subject Expert Disaster Management) was extended a cordial welcome by Principal Shri Bimal Kumar Das. Shri Singh briefed the students on the meaning of Disaster, precautions to be taken, and various search and rescue skills. He stressed upon the importance of awareness and alertness under such circumstances. A Demo of a working Search and Rescue Team was given wherein the students were divided into various teams. Some rescue strategies like Blanket Rescue, Two hands seat, Fireman Lift, Wheelchair Drill, etc. were demonstrated. A practical Fire Fighting Demo was given showcasing the use of firefighting equipment and safety techniques.




Day 2 (PPT Presentation) : 

Students of class IX prepared informative PPTs presenting the methods of Research and Rescue and types of equipment used during a disaster in countries like the USA, MALAYSIA, JAPAN, AUSTRALIA, and INDIA, thus sharing the knowledge learnt with their fellow students. The Presentation was a great learning experience for both the performers and viewers.
