YOGA-ENRICHING GLOBAL SOCIETY
ISA COLLABORATIVE PROJECT
CLASSES V & XI

The scholars of class V and XI  of  D.A.V Public school, Sainik Colony, Sector- 49, Faridabad participated in ISA Collaborative Project  Yoga-Enriching Global Society under the aegis of British Council in the first fortnight  of December,2019. The DAVites  explored the yogasanas of Bhutan , Nepal the U.S.A and India.

A TALK SHOW ON CHAKRAS
An informative Talk Show supplemented by a ppt   was conducted  on Chakras . A quiz on chakras was organised for the students of Class XI & was emailed to the partner school shri Jana Gyan Sagar High School , Nepal. It was an enriching activity where the participants were quizzed about the showcased presentation. All the teams participated enthusiastically and questions put up to the audience were also fielded very well. In the quiz Yoganand team from class XI C bagged the first prize and  Vivekanand team from class XI A got the second prize. 








MASS YOGA SESSION
Under the ISA programme  Mass Yoga Session – YOGABHYAS  was organised .  The Class V scholars along with their parents participated in the Yoga Session. Correct posture and techniques of yogasanas were demonstrated . The session provided an immense spiritual and mental boost to the performers. The parents termed the session as a joyous Mind Controlling Session  . They expressed their keenness to attend such beneficiary session in future too.










INTER SCHOOL YOGASANA COMPETITION
Inter School Yogasana Competition was also organised wherein the contestants of reputed schools of  Faridabad presented  different  asanas Baddha Padamasana, Purna Chakrasana, Ekpada Skandhasana, Paschimottanasana and Purnadhanurasana. They were assessed by yoga experts - Mr. Aendresh Bhardwaj (Alumni – 2005) and Ms. Monika Verma . The jury members appreciated the focus , flexibility, strength and co-ordination of the young contestants and gave tips for further improvement. The winners were felicitated by the Principal  of the school and jury members . In the Inter School Yogasana Competition D.A.V.Public School Palwal stood first and Vidya Niketan Public School got the second prize. All the participants were awarded participation certificates.

                                               







PROJECT  FILES
The descriptive and creative project files were prepared by the diligent scholars of  Class V highlighting yogasanas of various countries , their therapeutical values and health benefits. The files were appreciated by all the jury members and the visitors as well.









DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL
        SECTOR -49,FARIDABAD          COLLABORATIVE ISA PROJECT
PREVALENT SYMMETRY IN THE WORLD   SESSION 2019-20
DAV Public School, Sainik Colony, Sec-49, Faridabad organized a plethora of activities under ISA collaborative project , Prevalent Symmetry in the World. The project undertook the study of various countries namely Italy, France, Nepal & India by the classes VII & VIII. The project was an endeavour to apprise the students about the symmetries that exist in the world.The whole project was a collaboration with the Gurukul Academy, Dhanagadi, Nepal.





PROJECT I : EXHIBITION OF TESSELATION
The project of exploring symmetry started with fructiferous interaction with, one of the other countries ;i.e, Nepal followed by symmetry in tessellation, which was an eye-opener for the students. A panoramic view unfolded before them. The profundity of tessellation began with a talk by the teacher. The students were briefed about tessellation and its various precepts with the help of a Power Point Presentation. At the end of it ,the students showcased their creative work and  gave an , articulate explanation of their work.












PROJECT II : INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITION

The students from various schools of the city participated in rangoli making, face painting, mask making and wall hanging. It provided a wonderful platform to the budding artists of classes VII & VIII to showcase their aesthetic sense. The Principal Sir,  B.K. Das honoured the judges with planters and  felicitated the outstanding performers. In face painting ,ST. John’s Public School, Sec-49 got the first position , while, DAV Ballabgarh stood second. The presentation by the budding artists left the judges Mr.K.K. Choubey & Mr.Satish Pandey spellbound  Mr.K.K. Choubey, in his address appreciated the creativity of the new era artists.







PROJECT III : MULTI DIMENSIONAL SKIT ON SYMMETRY
On 30 November 2019, under the ISA collaborative project Prevalent Symmetry in the world the students of class VII presented a skit on symmetry, in the special assembly. It was an amalgamation of Maths  role play, a Power Point presentation , display of scrap books and a splendid PYRAMID FORMATION. The seamless skit was worth watching and the participants were applauded for putting up their best efforts . After this, a worksheet based on skit was given to  the student of class VIII to assess their concept clarity . The observation were positive. The same worksheet was shared with the partner school.

MOVING RHYTHMICALLY TO MUSIC
ISA COLLABORATIVE PROJECT
CLASSES X, XI - XII

The scholars of classes X, XI and XII of D.A.V Public School, Sainik Colony, Sec 49, Faridabad participated in an ISA collaborative project called "Moving Rhythmically to Music"  under the aegis of British Council in the month of August 2019. The DAVites explored the folk songs and folk dances of Nepal, Japan, Afghanistan and India. 

LIVE QUIZ ON FOLK DANCES OF INDIA: Under the ISA programme, a Live Quiz on Folk Dances of India was  organised. It was an enriching activity where the dancers performed beautifully in traditional dresses. Post each performance, the participants were quizzed about the showcased folk dance. All teams participated enthusiastically  and questions put up to the audience were also fielded very well.   





LIVE PUPPET SHOW & WORKSHOP ON SHADOW PUPPETS  
Live Puppet Show by the acclaimed puppeters, Mr. Anand Kumar and Mr. Vikram Bhat enthralled the audience. It captured the attention of the students and opened the doors of their imagination. In the latter section, Shadow Puppet Workshop  and Questionnaire Activity were conducted. The former activity allowed the children not only to learn the puppet making skill but also to understand scientific aspects related to shadow and light. It created exciting fantasy world with characters. Moreover, an enlightening ppt on International Puppetry was also presented.






FOLK DANCE SHOW :      

Screening of the Folk Dance was also organised among the array of different activities in the project. The dancers dressed in colourful costumes put up a well coordinated performance on the Bengali folk song "Fagunero Mohonayae".



SPIC MACAY SESSION :  

Spic Macay Session, by Anwar Khan Langa and Troupe from Rajasthan gave the students a taste of  Rajasthani Folk Song and Sufi music. The lively and entertaining traditional rendition spellbound everyone present and left an indelible impression on their minds. The artists gave a beautiful rendering of the traditional songs including those, which inspired the famous Bollywood songs.





INTER SCHOOL FOLK SONG AND FOLK DANCE COMPETITION :

An Inter School Folk Song and Folk Dance Competition was organised on 18 Oct. , 2019.  The progamme kicked off with an energizing presentation by the host school on Chhattisgarhi folk song.
It was followed by Group Song Competition, which saw an enthusiastic participation by many schools. The audience got the taste of Rajasthani, Punjabi, Chhattisgarhi, Bhojpuri folk songs.
In segment II; Group Folk Dance Competition began with Afghani folk dance, Attan, performance by the host school. The competing dancers performed spiritedly in traditional dresses on Marathi, Haryanvi, Gujarati, Rajasthani folk dances.
The jury members appreciated all the presentations and gave tips for further improvement. The winners in different categories were felicitated by the Principal of the school and the jury members. In Group Folk Dance, D.A.V 37 bagged the first prize and D.A.V, NIT 3 got the second prize. In Group Folk Song, MVN, Sec 17 stood first and D.A.V 37 stood second. All the participants were awarded participation certificates.
The Principal, Sh. B.K. Das remarked that the ISA projects provide a wonderful platform for interaction with different countries, and gives exposure to their culture, ideas and concepts.








CONCLUSION

The project consisting of myriad activities provided the opportunity to the DAV scholars to acknowledge the variety prevalent in the genre of folk songs and folk
dances.
